Moves – why learning is not all in your head”, Carla Hannaford’s
first book was published in 1995. It was a ground breaking exploration,
highly commended by many brilliant researchers and workers in the field.
It is still the most popular and widely read book on the subject having
sold over 100,000 copies in nine different languages and remains one of
our best sellers.
Carla is a biologist and educator with more than 30 years teaching experience, including 20 years as a professor of biology and four years as a counsellor for children with learning difficulties. She has been an educational consultant to 27 countries and has received awards from the University of Hawaii and the American Association for the Advancement of Science for outstanding teaching of Science. Members of the Ladder of Learning team first worked with Carla at the SEAL Conference in Bath in April 1997 and were then part of the group that first brought her to Scotland in May of that year.
Since then Carla has been a regular visitor and popular conference presenter in Scotland and the UK, drawing on the information and research she collects in her travels around the world. She is a passionate believer in Brain Gym and is a member of the Professional Advisory Board to Brain Gym® International.
